I wanted the drink. Not the buzz, the drink. The cold glass, the orange peel, the first bitter sip that you continue to appreciate as the evening goes on. Most everything made for people not drinking had seemingly sanded that away. To me, most read as cloyingly sweet and ‘juice box with an adult price tag’. Wellness in a can, sold with a promise about my gut or my focus or my sleep, as if I needed a reason beyond wanting something that simply tastes good.

So, I made one in my kitchen. Badly, at first. Forty-one times, roughly, before it tasted like what I was actually missing.

Here’s what we won’t do: make a health claim, add a functional ingredient for the sake of marketing, or ask you to explain yourself. We’re alcohol agnostic. What’s in your glass is nobody’s business, including ours. We just think it should be worth drinking.
